Job summary

Valley Cottage Library in a suburb of NYC seeks a dependable, friendly team member for its Circulation Department. This part-time role (7.5 hours/week) includes Tuesday evenings, Friday afternoons, second Saturdays, and fourth Sundays, with a pay range of $19.00–$22.00 per hour.

Reporting to the Head of Circulation, you will handle circulation tasks and clerical duties while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Three years of office or library experience required or preferred.
• Koha ILS experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills including Word and email.
• Excellent customer service with a diverse public.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing software and processes.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Circulation Desk duties: check in/out, issue cards, collect fines, update records.
• Open/close library on scheduled days.
• Perform general clerical tasks.
