Job summary

Marlin Selection is seeking an Application Support Engineer to be the first line of technical response for client-facing operations. You will manage weekend operations alongside the weekday team, handling software upgrades, live support, and client service requests.

You will plan weekend activity, coordinate deployments, and ensure readiness for handover to steady-state support. The role emphasizes incident response, client integrations, and real-time trading tech familiarity, with a focus on

Qualifications

3+ years in production operations or SRE for mission-critical systems.
Basic Linux administration and networking knowledge.
Hands-on use of monitoring and observability tools.
Proven ability to analyse complex issues and make sound decisions under time pressure.
Strong written and verbal communication for incident documentation and client interaction.
Scripting in Python, Bash, PowerShell or similar for automation.
Direct experience supporting or onboarding technical client integrations.
Familiarity with bridging, aggregation and reporting integration patterns.

Responsibilities

Monitor production systems, triage alerts, and assess severity and business impact.
Plan and run weekend activity including software upgrades and migrations.
Plan and coordinate deployments and client implementations with risk assessment and go/no-go decisions.
Respond to client queries within SLA and provide clear technical guidance.
Analyse trade-related issues and connectivity problems; escalate when needed.
Lead post-incident reviews and drive improvements in processes and automation.
