Job summary

Alianza is seeking an experienced Weekend Laser Operator in Gastonia, NC. You will set up and run laser cutting equipment to manufacture precision sheet metal parts per blueprints and work orders.

Candidates must have at least 1 year of manufacturing experience and prior laser cutting exposure, with strong mechanical aptitude. Responsibilities include loading materials, verifying dimensions, adjusting CNC programs, and maintaining quality and safety on a 12-hour weekend shift (Fri-Sun, 6:00

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on manufacturing experience required.
• Previous hands-on experience operating laser cutting equipment required.
• Experience with metal fabrication equipment or CNC production equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience handling sheet metal and metal components.
• Able to read a tape measure and use precision tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate laser cutting machinery to cut sheet metal per specs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders.
• Load/unload sheet metal materials (steel, stainless, aluminum).
• Adjust machine settings and CNC programs as required.
• Perform startup, operation, and shutdown procedures per guidelines.
• Monitor operations for accuracy, efficiency and quality.
• Inspect finished parts with calipers and gauges; report issues.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and production documentation.
