Job summary

American Senior Communities in Meadow Lakes Assisted Living is seeking a Cook to join our culinary team. This role focuses on preparing meals that meet nutritional needs for residents, following recipes, and maintaining high sanitation standards.

We offer part-time weekend hours with benefits; the kitchen leads and collaborates with staff to ensure timely service and quality meals. Experience in institutional or healthcare settings is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or 1-3 years related experience or equivalent combination.
• Preferred: Sanitation/Safe Food Handling certification; certifications can be earned while employed.
• Preferred: Prior institutional and/or healthcare service experience.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares food meeting residents' nutritional needs.
• Cooks meals in quantities needed and ensures palatability and nutritional adequacy.
• Leads kitchen staff with food preparation, assembling trays, cleaning, and storage of supplies and equipment.
• Maintains a clean food service work area during preparation and service.
• Handles, stores, and disposes of food supplies per procedures and regulations.

Education
