Kids for the Future is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide essential in-home support and assist with personal care, ADLs, and community participation in the White Oak area. The role emphasizes independence and safe assistance.

The position is part-time and non-exempt, with entry pay of $18.40 per hour, rising to $20.00 after training and completion of required certifications. Must have a high school diploma and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Experience in personal support or caregiving is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to facilitate text-based communication.
• Ability to assist with mobility and transportation needs, including scooter use.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance with daily activities to support comfort and dignity.
• Assist with ADLs like meal prep and light housekeeping to promote independence at home.
• Facilitate community engagement and accompany to activities and outings.
• Assist with computer-based text communication to express needs and preferences.
• Provide transportation support using a company or personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.
• Coordinate with nursing staff for health care management and medication oversight.
