Job summary

Forest View Hospital is seeking a per diem weekend receptionist to greet guests, operate the hospital switchboard, direct calls, and perform admission procedures. The role supports the hospital’s mission and service excellence program. Weekend hours are 7 a.m.

to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays in Grand Rapids, MI. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and prior front desk or switchboard experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Effective oral communication and demonstrated interpersonal skills.
• Ability to make independent, responsible decisions upholding hospital policy.
• Previous office/front desk experience or switchboard experience preferred.
• Must be comfortable working with psychiatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Operates the hospital switchboard and paging system in a professional, courteous manner, directing incoming calls to the appropriate person.
• Welcomes visitors to the hospital in a warm and helpful manner and maintains the visitor log and passes.
• Performs admission procedures, demonstrating comprehension of admission forms.
