Job summary

Sharon S Richardson Hospice is seeking a Weekend Hospice RN to provide compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals facing life-limiting illnesses during day-time weekend hours. You will manage symptoms, support families, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in home or hospice facility settings.

The role emphasizes independence during weekend shifts, effective communication, and adherence to regulatory standards while delivering comfort and dignity at end-of-life care.

Qualifications

• Current and valid WI Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
• Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in hospice or palliative care.
• Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with strong time management.
• Demonstrated skills in counseling patients and families or bereavement support.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments during weekend shifts.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring responses and updating care plans.
• Provide education and support to patients and families about disease progression and symptom management.
• Collaborate with hospice interdisciplinary team to update care plans and communicate changes.
• Document nursing interventions and observations accurately in line with regulatory standards.
• Respond promptly to patient and family concerns or emergencies to ensure safety and comfort.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare providers and community resources as needed.
