Job summary

Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association seeks weekend Personal Care Aides to provide in-home care in the Rocky Mount area. You will follow care plans, assist with personal care, and help with daily tasks, using assistive devices as needed.

You will maintain safety and infection control standards, protect client confidentiality, and document care electronically while supporting clients to maintain independence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read and write required.
• At least 6 months of validated caregiving experience.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to provide basic personal care and use assistive equipment.
• Strong understanding of safety, infection control, and confidentiality protocols.

Responsibilities

• Following client care plans and completing daily tasks via electronic methods.
• Assisting clients with basic personal care such as bathing, grooming, ambulation, and meal preparation, including special diet needs.
• Using equipment like walkers and wheelchairs safely and effectively.
• Maintaining a clean, safe environment and adhering to infection control standards.
• Respecting client confidentiality and privacy, providing quality care within scope.
• Encouraging clients' self-help and monitoring for any changes in their condition.
• Notifying supervisors of any safety concerns or suspected abuse or neglect.
• Assisting with secondary tasks like laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, and meal prep, if appropriate.
