Job summary

Solar Atmospheres in Hermitage, PA is seeking a Furnace Operator for weekend/day shift (Sat–Mon, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM). You’ll perform vacuum heat treating, brazing, and related tasks, often juggling multiple projects with minimal supervision.

Training is provided, and prior experience in manufacturing or heat treatment is a plus. Responsibilities include loading/unloading furnaces, operating equipment, and maintaining safe, clean work areas while meeting quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic math skills will serve you well.
• Reliable and organized with ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment moving around consistently throughout the day.
• Ability to lift, bend, reach, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or heat treatment is a plus but willing to train!
• Forklift and Overhead Crane experience/licensure a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and change out furnace loads and pack all orders.
• Operate furnaces and other shop equipment.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas with safety in mind.
• Follow project instructions and complete all customer labeling and packaging requirements.
• Configure and monitor settings on programs, recorders, and vacuum gauges.
• Work efficiently while maintaining company quality standards.
• Utilize a forklift and overhead crane as needed.
