Job summary

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Exercise Science or related field (Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Physical Education, Athletic Training).
• Nationally Accredited Personal Training Certification (ACSM/NASM/NSCA) within 6 months of employment.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a fitness center environment preferred.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• Outgoing personality and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Orient new members to their exercise program, equipment use and safety.
• Assist members with proper equipment use and monitor workouts on the fitness floor.
• Evaluate client fitness level with focus on cardiovascular function and metabolism.
• Develop individualized exercise prescriptions and programs based on assessments and goals.
• Lead group exercise classes and promote fitness programs and events.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness and equipment, and report any defects.
• Provide excellent member service and respond to concerns promptly.
