Job summary

Troy University in Troy, Alabama, seeks a Weekend Facilities Supervisor – Custodial/Maintenance to lead weekend custodial and maintenance teams, ensuring campus buildings, classrooms, residence halls and grounds are clean, safe and well‑maintained.

The full‑time on‑site role coordinates work orders, preventive maintenance, inspections and reporting, working with Facilities Management to prioritize tasks, manage inventories and respond to emergencies while maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience including scheduling, training, performance management and accountability.
• Solid knowledge of facility operations, custodial standards, building inspections and preventive maintenance planning.
• Experience with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and coordinating repairs.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, and building automation controls.
• Ability to diagnose and coordinate repairs of building systems and equipment.
• Familiar with safety regulations (OSHA) and risk management practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication for coordinating with staff, vendors and stakeholders.
• Willingness to work weekends and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Prior experience in facilities management in higher education is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary training or certifications in facilities management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee weekend custodial and maintenance staff, assigning, coordinating and monitoring work orders.
• Supervise routine, corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
• Conduct facility inspections for cleanliness, safety and efficiency.
• Prioritize tasks with Facilities Management; manage equipment and supply inventories.
• Coordinate vendor activities and respond to emergency maintenance situations.
• Maintain accurate records, document daily activities and prepare reports.
• Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, vendors and university stakeholders.
