Job summary

Charlotte Animal Referral & Emergency in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Part-Time Registered Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our Emergency team on weekends. You will work with experienced ER veterinarians to triage, assist, and provide patient care during critical cases.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent
• A minimum of 2 years of veterinary technician experience is required
• RVT preferred but not required
• The ability to lift up to 40lbs unassisted
• Emotionally intelligent

• Able to safely restrain patients for extended periods of time
• Proficient with technology including electronic medical record systems, automated lab analyzers, digital radiology

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinariansin all aspects of care
• Provide advanced nursing care to patients with compassion

• Triage patients and anticipate veterinarian's needs to maintain workflow
