Job summary

PetVet Care Centers’ Western Carolina Regional Animal Hospital & Veterinary Emergency Hospital in Flat Rock, NC is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for weekend shifts. You will support veterinarians and technicians, maintain equipment, care for patients, and assist with clerical duties in a fast-paced ER-capable facility.

Ideal candidates have ER and anesthesia experience, are at least 18, and bring veterinary hospital exposure.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• ER Experience required.
• Anesthesia experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet patients and owners, take weight and vital signs.
• Triage patients and assist with medications as directed by LVTs.
• Calm and soothe anxious patients.
• Assist doctors and technicians with medication administration and patient restraint.
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs.
• Maintain medical records and ensure proper documentation.
