Job summary

Palomar UC San Diego Health in Poway, CA, seeks an ED Tech for the Weekend Only Worker program. This full-time role supports the Emergency Department under RN supervision during weekend shifts.

The position requires strong English communication and basic computer skills (Windows, MS Office). It includes transcription of orders and coordination of admissions, discharges and transfers as part of a fast-paced ED team.

Qualifications

• Minimum education as required by certification and/or licensure.
• Preferred Education: High School Diploma and/or combination of education and experience with specialized vocational training.
• Minimum Experience: 6 months related.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents care to patients in the Emergency department under the direction of the RN.
• Transcribes physician orders and coordinates clerical aspects of admission, discharge and transfer of patients.
• Participates as a team member to ensure appropriate resources to all internal/external customers.
• Speak and read English at a level sufficient to perform essential functions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
