Job summary

Covenant Case Management Services seeks a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide weekend Community Living Support and Respite for an individual with IDD in North Carolina. You will support daily routines, promote independence, and help the person participate in community activities.

The role focuses on Saturdays and Sundays with 7.5 hours per day, flexible start/end times to fit family schedules.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of caregiving or direct support experience preferred.
• Driver’s License: Valid North Carolina driver’s license and reliable personal transportation (Required).
• Background Check: Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive background screening (Required).
• Core Competencies: Dependability, strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a genuine heart for serving others.

Responsibilities

• Daily Living Support: Assist with routine activities of daily living, personal care, meal preparation, and independence-building goals in the home.
• Community Integration: Guide and accompany the individual during community outings, social activities, and recreation to promote inclusion and connection.
• Family & Team Collaboration: Partner closely with the individual and their family to understand unique routines, goals, and care preferences.
• Communication & Coordination: Maintain open, reliable communication with our coordination team regarding progress, schedule adjustments, and daily updates.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to state care standards, agency health and safety protocols, and personalized care plans.
