Job summary

The Whistling Kettle in the Capital Region seeks a General Manager to support owners and the kitchen manager in day-to-day restaurant operations. The GM will supervise the front-of-house team—tea tenders, greeters, bussers and cashiers—and uphold a top-quality guest experience through service excellence, cleanliness and safety.

This role requires weekend availability and willingness to travel to other locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in restaurant/hospitality management or co-management.
• Weekend availability required.
• Ability to supervise front-of-house staff and coordinate scheduling.
• Willingness to travel to other locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing coaching and progressive discipline to all team members.
• Ensure clear performance expectations and documentation for staff.
• Oversee day-to-day FOH operations to meet Whistling Kettle standards.
• Conduct orientation and training per company manuals and procedures.
• Create and manage weekly work schedules to meet business needs.
• Ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper sanitation across shifts.
