Job summary

Exclusive Caring Partners LLC in Gastonia, North Carolina, seeks dedicated Direct Support Staff for weekend 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 10:00 PM, every other weekend) in group home settings.

You will assist with daily living activities, medication assistance, and community involvement, while documenting services and supporting residents' PCP goals. The role requires completion of required trainings and strong communication to ensure safety and well-being.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience and no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
• Current auto insurance policy.
• Ability to work in a group home or home-like setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must maintain all state-required certifications (CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration, etc.).
• At least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Must successfully complete all required training prior to placement.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily living activities including dressing, bathing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Assist with medication administration and monitor medical concerns such as seizures, allergies, and adaptive equipment use.
• Participate in recreational and community activities, including swimming and family events.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and incidents.
• Advocate for residents and support their personal goals and outcomes.
• Ensure safety and supervision at all times, protecting individuals from hazards.
• Assist with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and minor repairs.
• Attend staff meetings and complete all required trainings.
• Provide transportation as needed, only when individuals are unable to do so independently.
