Job summary

All Ways Caring HomeCare in North Carolina is hiring Direct Support Professionals (IDD) to provide compassionate, in-home care to individuals with developmental disabilities. You will assist with daily living, monitoring, and skill-building in a home-like setting.

The role emphasizes safety, privacy, and independence, with training provided. Weekend and evening shifts are required to cover client needs; valid driver’s license and ability to work in home-based environments are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license in most cases.
• Ability to work in home-like settings.
• Six months of home management experience; meet state licensure requirements.
• Certified Nursing Assistant or GA State registry may be required.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel.
• Physical ability to perform tasks (bending, lifting, walking).
• Attend required trainings; follow state requirements including medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care tasks including hygiene, feeding, and mobility.
• Foster positive relationships with individuals served and their support circle.
• Ensure client safety and maintain a safe environment.
• Assist with toileting and related devices.
• Support self-administration of medications with proper training.
• Encourage self-help activities and independence.
• Implement ISP and BSP as prescribed.
• Manage behaviors with preventive/de‑escalation methods.
• Report changes in client condition to the office.
• Document services, logs, and related activities daily.
• Perform home management: light housekeeping, laundry, meals.
• Transport clients to activities and appointments.
• Other duties as assigned.
