Job summary

Exclusive Caring Partners LLC in Gastonia, NC is hiring Direct Support Staff for weekend overnight shifts in a group home setting. You will support residents with daily routines, assist with personal care, and help with community activities while maintaining safety and documentation.

Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated Direct Support Staff to provide care and support to individuals during weekend shifts in a group home or home-like setting. Staff will assist with daily routines, personal care, and community involvement, while ensuring safety and well-being. This role requires completion of all required documentation and effective implementation of goals outlined in each individual's Person-Centered Plan (PCP).

Available Shifts - This position is for every other weekend (Friday, Sat, Sun nights)

• Weekend 3rd Shift (Overnight): 10:00 PM – 9:00 AM

Essential Responsibilities

• Maintain supervision and remain awake for duration of the overnight shift.
• Complete assigned overnight duties i.e., entree preparation for following day's dinner, assigned cleaning responsibilities, and some laundry duties.
• Complete 30 min checks of each resident without disturbing their sleep.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services, sleep chart, morning goals and daily notes
• Ensure safety and supervision at all times, protecting individuals from hazards.
• Assist with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and minor repairs.
• Attend staff monthly staff meetings and complete all required trainings.

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs, stoop, bend, walk up to two miles, and perform household tasks.
• Adequate visual and audio acuity to supervise residents and respond to emergencies.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform basic math functions and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience and no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
• Current auto insurance policy.Ability to work in a group home or home-like setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must maintain all state-required certifications (CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration, etc.).
• At least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Must successfully complete all required training prior to placement.

Compensation

• Hourly Pay: $13.00 – $15.00
  • $15.00 rate for applicants with an Associates or Bachelors Degree and at least 2 years of experience with IDD/MH/DD.

This is a contract position and does not include benefits.
