Job summary

Ameriwell Care in Hoboken, NJ is seeking Weekend Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities on weekends.

You will assist with daily living skills, accompany outings, encourage social participation, complete notes, and follow ISP and safety guidelines, while maintaining reliable weekend attendance. NJ DDD training and background clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Dependable and committed to working scheduled weekend hours.
• Compassionate, patient, and professional.
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required.
• Must be willing and able to complete required NJ DDD training and background-clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the individual with daily living skills and independence
• Accompanying the individual on community outings and recreational activities
• Encouraging socialization and community participation
• Assisting with shopping, errands, meals, and other daily activities
• Providing companionship and positive, person-centered support
• Assisting with personal care when needed
• Providing transportation when required for the assignment
• Following the individual’s ISP, safety guidelines, and support strategies
• Completing required service documentation and daily notes
• Maintaining consistent and reliable attendance for scheduled weekend shifts
