Job summary

Chelsey Park Health & Rehab is seeking a part-time kitchen assistant for weekend shifts. You will prepare meals per dietician-approved menus, operate standard kitchen equipment, and maintain clean, compliant work areas to support senior residents.

You will handle tray lines, accommodate dietary orders, and ensure meals are served on time while following safety and infection control policies. This role involves teamwork in a busy elderly care setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret menus and follow recipes.
• Comfort with working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to menus created by dieticians.
• Operate kitchen equipment (mixer, slicer, oven, steamer) as needed.
• Keep work areas clean and sanitized; follow infection control policies.
• Assist with tray line setup and service for meals.
• Follow standardized recipes and accommodate special diets as ordered.
• Monitor temperatures of food storage areas and record as required.
• Ensure timely preparation and serving of meals and dietary substitutions.
• Assist in stocking, cleaning, and general kitchen maintenance.
