Job summary

Avamere Skilled Advisors, LLC is seeking a part-time Cook for weekend shifts at Avamere at South Hill in Spokane, WA. You will prepare nutritious meals, ensure dietary restrictions are met, and maintain high sanitation standards to create a home-like dining experience for residents.

Responsibilities include menu execution, dietary accommodations, and collaboration with the Dietary/Dining Services Director to align meals with resident care plans.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of cook experience in hospital or healthcare setting preferred.
• Interpersonal skills to work with multiple departments and staff.
• Ability to read, write, and follow directions and calculate recipes accurately.
• Knowledge of high sanitation standards and safe food handling.
• Willingness to obtain ServSafe certification within 30 days if needed.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with proper temperature and presentation.
• Prepare alternatives and snacks for residents with changing appetites.
• Adapt recipes for dietary needs (low-sodium, diabetic, vegetarian, texture-modified).
• Accommodate memory care dining challenges (finger foods, flexible dining times).
• Create a calm, inviting dining environment to encourage socialization.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation per ServSafe and regulations.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen, prep areas, and dishwashing stations after each shift.
• Log and monitor food and refrigerator temperatures daily for quality control.
