Job summary

Winder Center for Nursing and Healing is seeking a Cook for weekend PRN shifts, starting late night to early morning. The role focuses on food preparation and patient nourishments within a caring hospital-like environment.

You will follow dietary guidelines, operate standard kitchen equipment, and ensure safety and compliance while interacting warmly with patients and visitors. Prior healthcare kitchen experience is a plus, with certification preferred or obtainable within 90 days.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare kitchen is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Serv Safe certification preferred or willingness to get certified within 90 days.
• Dependable, positive attitude and able to work weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation following established guidelines under the Food Services Manager.
• Create nutritious dishes based on dietary guidelines for each meal.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, ovens and more.
• Understand menu substitutions and record them accurately.
• Provide a warm and friendly demeanor to patients, family and visitors.
• Adhere to safety protocols and corporate compliance standards.
