Job summary

Marvin is seeking a Weekend Controls Technician to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC issues on production machines in Kansas City, KS. The role trains on day shift for up to two months, then moves to the evening shift, working Friday to Sunday, 6:00am–6:00pm.

You will document repairs, assist with PLC programming, and support machine reliability initiatives. The successful candidate will have 2+ years in a related role, an associate degree in a technical field, forklift/AWP licenses,

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a closely related role is required.
• Associate’s degree in a technical-related field preferred.
• Forklift and aerial platform licenses must be obtainable.
• Experience with Enterprise Asset Management software and Microsoft Office expected.

Responsibilities

• Observe equipment to detect hazards and service needs, and document repairs.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC issues on production equipment.
• Use ladder logic programming with RS Logix 500/5000 for PLC changes.
• Collaborate with CEPG on machine improvements and verify system performance.
• Maintain program backups and document set-points and parameters.

Job Overview

The Weekend Controls Technician will assume advanced tasks relating to the production machines and will troubleshoot all electrical and Mechanical problems on equipment, including PLC controls. This position is responsible foranalyzing equipment to troubleshoot problems and making any necessary repairs to electrical,mechanicalor PLC programming changes related to production reliability.

Friday - Sunday 6:00am - 6:00pm

Highlights of your role

• Observesfunctioningof installed equipment to detecthazards ,problems and the need for service,repairand/or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.
• Proficiently use ladder logic programming with experience in the Allen Bradleyplatform basedprogramming, including RS Logix 500 and 5000.
• Work efficiently withworkorder system (EAM) to document repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the plant.
• Traces problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Discusses performance issues and improvement ideas with pertinent technical staff.
• Maintains backups of programs from all electrical devices.
• Checks newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Use basic Servo Controls (open and closed loop systems) and set up variable frequencydriveoperations and parameters.
• Perform basic motor operation and troubleshooting on Servo motors, brushed DC motors, and Induction motors.
• Works closely with the Custom Equipment Process Group (CEPG) on machine improvements.
• Will have the skills toproperly usea digital multimeter.
• Works closely with maintenance andis able toassistwith troubleshooting electrical problems and able to providePLC-supportacross the plant.
• Concisely and accuratelydocumentsset-pointsand parameters for equipment.

• Associate’s degree in a technical-related field is strongly preferred
• Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have Enterprise Asset Management software experience and ability toutilizeMicrosoft Office Suite programs proficiently

Compensation

Starting at $27/hr, based on experience + $3 shift differential
