Job summary

Advocate Health – Med Surg is hiring a Nurse Aide to join our 36-hour work week, weekend-only schedule, nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. This full-time role supports RN care, documents patient data in the EMR, and participates in admissions, transfers, and discharges under supervision.

A strong team ethic and attention to patient comfort are essential. The successful candidate will have a GED/HSED or high school diploma, basic computer skills, and solid communication abilities.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED/HSED required.
Basic computer skills.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work with a healthcare team.
Commitment to patient privacy and safety.

Responsibilities

Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, mobility and monitoring.
Document vitals and patient data in the EMR.
Support admissions, transfers, and discharges under RN supervision.
Assist with nutrition, skin care, and patient comfort.
Coordinate tests and treatments with departments as needed.
Communicate effectively with patients and families.
