Qualifications

• SRNA - Certified as State Registered Nurse Assistant in Kentucky required upon hire
• BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification required within 90 days of employment in this position
• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet and orient new patients to the hospital environment, room and unit routines.
• Create positive patient experience by focusing on what matters most to the patient and visitor.
• Engage patients and family in handoffs to meet patient needs and ensure safety through rounding.
• Provide ongoing communication through updates to the patient-room care board.
• Support safety culture by using error prevention tools in daily routines.
• Assist in patient assessments by data collection for nurse review and report abnormal findings.
• Document patient progress toward goals accurately and timely.
• Assist nursing staff with personal care respecting patient needs and standards.
• May monitor tubes, handle medications per safe handling practices.
• May update diet orders and verify tray deliveries meet diet requirements.
