Owensboro Health Regional Hospital is seeking a patient care assistant to provide direct care under RN supervision in the Stepdown Unit. Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• SRNA certification required upon hire in Kentucky.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of employment.

Aufgaben

• Greet and orient new patients to the hospital environment and unit routines.
• Involve patient and family in handoff to ensure safety and proactive care.
• Provide ongoing communication updates to the patient-room care board.
• Support a culture of safety by using error prevention tools in daily care.
• Assist in patient assessment by collecting data for review by a nurse.
• Document patient progress accurately and on time.
• Assist nursing staff with patient care considering physical, psychosocial, age-specific, and cultural needs.
• Provide personal care according to organizational standards and policies.
• May monitor tubes, administer medications safely, and verify diet orders.
• Assist with patient transport and bed placement as needed.
• Enter staff assignments and ensure proper login in Responder 5 System.
• Monitor EKG, interpret rhythm, and document in EMR.
• Adjust alarms per physician orders and telemetry protocols.
