Job summary

Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for weekend, full-time coverage. The role performs clinical testing of laboratory specimens, verifies patient identification, and ensures proper labeling and processing according to laboratory guidelines.

You will review data for clinical correlation and communicate critical results promptly to clinical staff. The position emphasizes quality control, adherence to safety and infection control policies, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technician program or equivalent.
• ASCP eligible and able to pass certification within 6 months of hire, or certified Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP/AMT.
• Experience with quality control procedures and laboratory safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical testing of laboratory specimens with accuracy and reliability.
• Verify patient identification and proper specimen labeling.
• Process specimens and operate appropriate analyzers or perform non-analyzer testing per protocol.
• Conduct quality control testing and review QC results for instrument performance.
• Communicate critical values promptly to physicians or nursing staff and document actions.
