Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Medical Lab Technician to perform a range of diagnostic tests on blood and body fluids, supporting timely patient care. The role requires handling moderate to high-complexity analyses, strict adherence to QC standards, and safe operation of lab equipment in a clinical setting.

The successful candidate will document results in the LIS, follow regulatory guidelines, and participate in staff training while maintaining dependable attendance and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or military lab training required.
• 0–2 years of acute clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• State license and national certifications as listed.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived to high-complexity tests following procedures and validates results.
• Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots laboratory equipment and performs preventive maintenance.
• Executes quality control procedures and documents corrective actions when needed.
• Documents patient test results in LIS and reports critical results per protocol.
• Collects venipuncture and capillary samples with proper patient identification.
• Mentors students and new staff, providing feedback and instruction.
