Job description

Position: Custodian

Reports to: General Manager (GM)/ Assistant Manager (AM)

Department: Operations

Purpose: The Custodian will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of all areas of the facility to ensure a positive member experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, locker room areas, shower rooms, stall walls and doors, and all waste areas, including sink and vanity areas and mirrors.
2. Inspect and clean all windows and window frames, both interior and exterior.
3. Detail clean all baseboards, wall trim, walls, and handrails throughout the facility, ensuring that all surfaces are free of handprints, scuff marks, and dust.
4. Dust and clean all air vents, TVs, PF signage, storage or glass doors, and light fixtures.
5. Remove or “push down” trash from all waste areas.
6. Vacuum all rubber or tile flooring throughout the gym floor, including auxiliary rooms and under gym equipment.
7. Scrub or mop all rubber or tile flooring throughout the gym floor, including auxiliary rooms and under gym equipment.
8. Maintain cleanliness and organization in all storage rooms, ensuring products are properly arranged on shelving racks and all loose boxes and trash are discarded.
9. Assist club management with inventory of cleaning products, providing feedback on usage and requested volume.
10. Educate and train part-time cleaners to excel in job responsibilities and performance.

Qualifications:

1. Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
2. HS diploma or equivalent required.
3. Custodial experience is preferred.
4. Must demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality skills.
5. Honesty and humble work ethics.
6. Great communication skills with internal and external customers.
7. Must be team-oriented, motivated, and well-organized.
8. Ability to think critically and evaluate solutions to problems proactively.
