Job summary

Visiting Angels in Charleston, SC is seeking CNAs and experienced in‑home health caregivers to serve Charleston, Dorchester, and Berkeley Counties. This role provides one‑on‑one, compassionate care to seniors in their homes, helping with daily activities and mobility while maintaining dignity.

We offer flexible part‑time schedules (days, evenings, weekends, overnights) and training, with competitive pay based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of in-home caregiver experience preferred.
• CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Prepare light meals according to dietary needs.
• Transport clients to shops, pharmacy, or appointments.
• Perform light housekeeping for the client.
• Be a pleasant, engaging, and supportive companion.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license, working vehicle, commuting required and current, up‑to‑date insurance
• Must adhere to plans of care for client
• Must have flexibility with schedules per client needs
• One year of in‑home, caregiver experience preferred
• Must have good communication skills, active listening between clients/families and staff
• Must be able to be calm in emergent situations and inform staff of any changes to client status
• Pass background and drug screening

Responsibilities:

• One year of proven experience as an in‑home caregiver (Preferred)
• Knowledge and demonstration of DME such as hoyer lift, wheelchairs, transfer bench, walker/training is available
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response, CPR preferred
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Respectful and compassionate
• Good time management skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

We service Charleston, Dorchester, and Berkeley counties, and the surrounding areas in South Carolina.
