Job summary

Home Instead Seattle is seeking compassionate weekend caregivers (CNA/HCA) to support older adults in Kenmore, South Seattle, Shoreline and surrounding areas. Part-time weekend shifts are available, with Sat 8am-12pm and Sun 8am-12pm (Sun 10am-9pm) and ongoing training.

Requirements include an active HCA or CNA certification and Hoyer lift experience. A valid driver’s license is preferred; be comfortable visiting homes with cats and driving to various neighborhoods.

Qualifications

• Active HCA or CNA certification (REQUIRED).
• Experience using a Hoyer lift (REQUIRED).
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene.
• Provide safe transfers and mobility assistance.
• Assist with walking and transfers in and out of bed or chairs.
• Light housekeeping and pet care assistance.
• Monitor client safety and well-being; communicate with family and care team.

Client Care Needs

Responsibilities

The ideal caregiver will be comfortable providing hands‑on personal care and mobility assistance while promoting the client’s safety, dignity, and independence. Responsibilities include:

• Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene assistance
• Safe transfers and mobility assistance using Hoyer lift
• Ambulation and transfers, including assisting the client with walking and getting in and out of bed or chairs
• Light housekeeping
• Pet care assistance
• Monitoring and promoting client safety, comfort, and well‑being
• Communicating effectively and compassionately with the client, family members, and the Home Instead care team

Qualifications

To be considered, applicants must have:

• An active HCA or CNA certification (REQUIRED)
• Experience using a Hoyer lift (REQUIRED) - Please do not apply unless you have Hoyer Experience
• A valid driver’s license and auto insurance (preferred, but not required)
• Willing to drive to Shoreline/Central/West Seattle
• Comfortable working in a home with cats
• A compassionate, patient, and dependable attitude
• Committed to treating clients and their homes with dignity and respect
