Job summary

Advocate Health in Albemarle, NC is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer I for a part-time role in the Cardiology department. The position involves Saturdays and Sundays with a 20-hour work week.

You will perform echocardiograms and related procedures, while coordinating reporting and patient care with physicians. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, completion of a cardiac ultrasound training program, and RDCS certification within 1 year, plus BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a cardiac ultrasound training program is required.
• Certification or registry in Echocardiography (RDCS) within 1 year of employment is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic echocardiograms and stress echo procedures as ordered by physicians.
• Records quality information while performing echocardiographic imaging and follows guidelines.
• Explains procedures and possible side effects to patient or family.
• Confirms physician requests and evaluates patient history for indicators and contraindications.
• Collaborates with physician to ensure quality patient care.
• Operates echocardiography equipment and maintains patient records.
• Manages the reporting process: study completion, interpretation, and final report.
• Submits final reports to appropriate units and handles portable echocardiograms.
• Takes call, works weekends, and rotates holidays as needed.
