Job summary

KMC Stampings in Port Washington, WI is seeking a Brake Press Setup/Operator to set up and operate brake presses and punch presses to form and bend a variety of materials. You will ensure part quality and efficiency in a fast-paced shop environment.

The position requires regular attendance, strong attention to detail, physical stamina to lift up to 40 pounds, and the ability to work overtime as needed. Previous press brake experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate brake press and punch press to form and bend parts.
• Set up dies and gauges; adjust ram stroke for proper angles and radii.
• Work from drawings, specifications, patterns, or templates.
• Use scales, protractors, gauges to ensure accuracy.
• Sort and package parts; verify quantity and quality of material.
• Move raw materials between production areas; operate overhead crane as needed.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Brake Press Setup/Operator sets-up and operates brake presses and punch presses to form and bend a variety of materials. Responsible for part quality and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set-up, adjust, and operate brake press and punch press to form, bend and punch a variety of work
• Set-up dies and gauges, adjust ram stroke to form materials to proper angle and radii
• Work from drawings, specifications, patterns, or templates
• Use scale, protractor, fixed angle and radii gauges
• Sorting and packaging parts
• Verify quantity & quality of material
• Moves raw material to and from production areas as necessary
• Operates overhead crane while moving product
• Responsible for strict adherence to all company/departmental policies and procedures related to safety and conduct
• Other duties as assigned or required
