Job summary

ALACRIANT, INC. in Streetsboro, OH is seeking a Press Brake Operator to run a computer-controlled press brake to form parts for manufacturing operations. Hours are Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm, with overtime as needed.

The role requires reading production paperwork, verifying measurements with calipers and height gages, checking material against requirements, and documenting quality and timekeeping. Safety rules, 5S standards, and PPE are required.

Responsibilities

• Reads production paperwork to determine specified requirements to manufacture.
• Uses calipers, micrometers, and height gages to verify part conformity to print specifications.
• Determines if material supplied meets production requirements and required quantities.
• Reviews parts for workmanship conformity.
• Fills out production paperwork including quality and timekeeping records (In-Process and Final Audit Report).
• Maintains a safe, clean work area in compliance with 5S standards.
• Fills out tags for production to identify parts (NCMR).
• Monitors calibration of equipment used in the department.
• Understands and applies Company Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.
• Follows written/verbal work instructions.
• Assists the Cell Leader with Continuous Improvement ideas.
• Wears required PPE and follows Safety Policy.

JOB SUMMARY
Operates computer-controlled press brake machine to produce formed parts for additional manufacturing operations or sold “as-is.”

Hours are M-F; 6:00am-2:30pm. OT as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reads production paperwork to determine specified requirements to manufacture.
• Has the ability to check parts utilizing calipers, micrometers, and height gages to guarantee conformity to print specifications.
• Is able to determine if material supplied meets production requirements and required qty’s.
• Reviews parts for conformity to workmanship standards.
• Fills out production paperwork including quality and timekeeping records In-Process and Final Audit Report.
• Is able to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area in compliance with facility housekeeping policies. (5S Standards)
• Is able to correctly fill out tags associated with production to identify parts produced. (Nonconforming Material Reporting - NCMR).
• Monitors the calibration of the equipment they use within their department.
• Know what the Company Quality Policy and Quality Objectives mean to them and their role associated with the achievement of these objectives.
• Follows written/verbal work instructions that they have been trained on.
• Other duties as directed.
• Assist the Cell Leader with the introduction of Continuous Improvement ideas.
• Wears required safety equipment and follow Safety Policy.

General Physical Demands

• Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
• Maintain balance and body control while working around heavy machinery.
• Work in a fast-paced industrial environment with exposure to noise, vibration, and temperature variation.

Strength & Lifting

• Lift, carry, and maneuver materials weighing:
  • Up to 50 lbs. independently
  • Over 50 lbs. with mechanical assistance (hoists, cranes, carts)
• Push and pull metal sheets, plates, and form parts on and off the press brake bed.
• Apply controlled force when positioning material, engaging clamps, or adjusting tooling.

Repetitive Motion & Dexterity

• Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements during material handling and machine operation.
• Use both hands simultaneously for safe and accurate part placement.
• Maintain fine motor control for:
  • Measuring parts
  • Operating machine controls
  • Handling small tools, fasteners, or shims

Posture & Body Positioning

• Bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and reach frequently to load parts or access tooling.
• Reach above shoulder height or across the machine bed as required.
• Work in awkward or static positions for short periods during setups or complex bends.

Vision & Sensory Requirements

• Good visual acuity (with or without corrective lenses) to:
  • Read gauges, digital readouts, and prints
  • Inspect parts for defects, alignment, and accuracy
• Depth perception and spatial awareness to safely position material and tooling.
• Hearing ability sufficient to:
  • Detect machine sounds
  • Hear alarms, warnings, or verbal instructions (with hearing protection as required)

• Ability to wear required PPE, including:
  • Safety glasses
  • Steel-toed footwear
  • Hearing protection
  • Cut-resistant gloves
• Awareness and adherence to safety protocols around pinch points, moving parts, and heavy materials.
