Job summary
US Conec, Ltd. is seeking an Automation Technician for the Fri-Sun 6pm-6am weekend shift in Hickory, NC. You will install, optimize, and support automated systems across injection molding and ferrule posting areas, performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting to maximize uptime.
You will work with controls engineers on PLC/HMI testing, use CAD drawings for installation, and help train operators while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Mechatronics/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology preferred.
- 2–4 years hands-on experience in a medium-volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with automated equipment maintenance experience.
- Familiarity with PLCs and HMIs; basic testing and diagnostics.
- Proficient reading 2D/3D CAD drawings.
Responsibilities
- Install, optimize, and support automation in injection molding areas.
- Troubleshoot and minimize downtime; escalate complex repairs.
- Read and update work instructions and schematics.
- Assist with PLC/HMI testing and diagnostics with controls engineers.
- Train operators on new automation systems.
- Support continuous improvement and cross-functional projects.
