Job summary

US Conec, Ltd. in Hickory, NC, is seeking a hands‑on Automation Technician to install, optimize, and support automated manufacturing systems across injection molding and ferrule posting areas. You’ll use mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to keep automation running and collaborate with engineering to drive reliable production.

The role emphasizes reading schematics, updating process docs, and assisting with PLC/HMI testing while supporting training for operators and technicians.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• 2–4 years hands‑on experience in a medium‑volume manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience maintaining automated equipment.
• Familiarity with PLCs and HMIs; able to assist with basic testing and diagnostics.
• Proficient reading 2D/3D CAD drawings.

Responsibilities

• Support installation, commissioning, and optimization of automation in molding areas.
• Monitor processes and adjust systems to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Provide first‑line troubleshooting and coordinate repairs.
• Read and update technical docs, schematics, and process flow.
• Assist with PLC/HMI testing and diagnostics with controls engineers.
• Train operators and technicians on new automation systems.
