Job summary

West Star Aviation Inc. is seeking an Aircraft Composite Technician for the weekend shift in Cedar Hill, TX. The role focuses on repairing parts using wet layup and prepreg techniques, including clean room processing and autoclave curing.

You will handle bonding methods, measurement, and assembly with fixtures while adhering to FAA guidelines and safety rules. Responsibilities include operating curing ovens, autoclaves, vacuum systems, and general shop equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Capable to use close tolerance measuring tools (i.e., scales, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.).
• Capable to use hand tools (i.e., drill motors, die grinders, rivet guns, fastener installation tools, etc.).
• Ability to perform alignment/assembly using jig, templates and fixtures.
• PPE must be used when cutting, grinding, blending, and sanding
• Extensive use of bagging materials
• Able to properly bag for a wide range of component shapes and styles.
• Capable of using a "Hot-Bonder" type machine cure procedure.
• Maintenance, cleaning and repair of shop facilities, equipment and tooling when required.
• Safely operate shop equipment such as: curing oven, autoclave, vacuum
• Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases
• Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
