Job summary

Banner University Medical Center - Phoenix (BUMCP) seeks a Speech Pathologist to join an elite rehabilitation team in a fast-paced, large-volume acute care environment. The role offers a weekend schedule (Fri–Sun, 7:00am–7:30pm) and requires a year of acute care experience with MBS assessments preferred.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology.
• Current licensure in the state of practice.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence or documented acceptance in Clinical Fellowship Year.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Strong interpersonal communications and human relation skills.
• Ability to become proficient with computer software applications used in automated patient care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients’ functional abilities and develops a plan of care and treatment goals as ordered by physician or referral source.
• Implements individualized treatment plans considering patients’ needs and re-evaluates plans to maximize benefit.
• Educates patients and families to promote participation and provide home programs with clear instructions.
• Documents patient treatment according to standards.
• Participates in training of other staff and students.
• Follows plan of care and uses independent judgment within scope of practice.
