Job summary

Banner Estrella Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. You will plan and implement therapy, document progress, and educate patients and families while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Experience with MBSS and FEES is preferred; 32 hours/week with 4 eight-hour shifts and weekend coverage may be required. Sign-on bonus available.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university program.
• Current licensure in the state of practice. Certificate of Clinical Competence or documented acceptance in Clinical Fellowship Year.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at time of hire and maintained for duration of employment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients’ functional abilities and limitations to determine appropriate intervention.
• Implements individualized treatment plans considering patient needs and current literature.
• Educates patients, family, and care providers to promote participation and attainment of therapeutic goals.
• Documents patient treatment according to professional and regulatory standards.
• Participates in training to other staff and students.
• Follow plan of care and make independent judgments; communicate with supervisor on unusual situations.
