Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant to provide care for acute cardiovascular surgical patients. The role requires a Masters of Nursing with Acute Care NP certification or PA-C licensure with Alabama Board approvals.

You will coordinate care plans, orders, and documentation under supervision, with weekend PM coverage and a commitment to patient safety. Qualifications include current CRNP or PA-C licensure, BLS, and potential ACLS/PALS dependence.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing with an Acute Care NP certification.
• Licensed as CRNP in Alabama or PA-C with PA license is required.
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to acute care CV surgical patients under physician direction.
• Coordinate care plans, discharge, and referrals for patients.
• Perform physical examinations and interpret medical records.
• Document patient assessments and care plans thoroughly.
• Coordinate with team and participate in performance improvement activities.

Education
