Job summary

Vanderhorst Brothers, Inc. is looking for a 5 Axis Mill Setup Machinist for the weekend shift in Fife, WA. This full-time position requires three years of CNC setup experience and strong knowledge of feeds, speeds, and tooling. Responsibilities include independently setting up CNC machines, performing inspections, and collaborating with Quality and Engineering teams. The compensation for this role ranges from $25 to $40 per hour based on experience, along with benefits such as medical insurance and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of CNC setup and operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of feeds, speeds, and tooling for aerospace-grade metals and alloys.
• Proficient in blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and trigonometry.
• Ability to make accurate offsets and adjustments within ±.002 tolerance.
• Experience with 4th and 5th axis machines, capable of running multiple machines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC machines, including loading fixtures, boring jaws, selecting and setting tools, and running programs.
• Perform and document first article inspections, presenting results to the Quality department.
• Operate multiple machines simultaneously, including 4-axis and 5-axis equipment.
• Maintain high efficiency, quality standards, and low scrap/rework rates.
