Job summary

Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Richmond seeks an experienced RN PreOp/PACU to provide continuous, high-quality nursing care to patients emerging from anesthesia, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians, monitoring patient status, and coordinating discharge planning. Requires active Texas RN license, BLS/ACLS, and PACU or critical care experience; weekend/shift flexibility may be needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for patients post-anesthesia.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation when needed.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and family education for discharge readiness.
