Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Richmond is seeking an RN for PreOp/PACU to provide continuous nursing care for patients emerging from anesthesia. The role emphasizes patient safety, comfort, and privacy, with potential involvement in conscious sedation under physician supervision.
Qualified candidates will have an accredited RN program graduate status, an active Texas RN license, and BLS/ACLS (PALS if required). Two years in PACU/ICU preferred; strong communication and nursing judgment required.
We have 4 OR rooms and perform outpatient surgical procedures in GI, Colorectal, Orthopedic, Pain, Spine, Podiatry. Position requires weekdays only (1 weekend day a month) -- no holidays or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.
The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge
