Job summary

Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Richmond is seeking a RN PreOp/PACU to provide continuous nursing care before and after procedures. The role includes patient surveillance, safety, and coordination with the surgical team.

Some early mornings or late evenings may be required; schedule may change with the day’s surgical flow. Requirements include an accredited RN education, active Texas RN license, BLS/ACLS (PALS if required), and 2 years PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by center.
• Two years of PACU/critical care experience preferred.
• Strong communication and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous nursing care and monitor patient condition.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation; maintain sterile technique.
• Provide comprehensive care for patients emerging from anesthesia; assess, plan, implement and evaluate discharge needs.

Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Richmond is hiring a RN PreOp/PACU

Welcome to Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Richmond

We have 4 OR rooms and perform outpatient surgical procedures in GI, Colorectal, Orthopedic, Pain, Spine, Podiatry. Position requires weekdays only (1 weekend day a month) -- no holidays or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse at Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Richmond

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
