Job summary

Anthropologie is seeking a Merchandise Assistant to support the Weddings buying area. You will help manage daily merchandise flow, coordinate sample logistics, and build cross-functional partnerships with distribution, design, and production. This role offers hands-on exposure to product development, web turnover, and vendor coordination.

This position is ideal for candidates with 1–2 years of retail experience and strong communication, with an eye for trend and detail.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of customer wants and trends to inform product selection.
• Ability to prioritize projects and manage multiple tasks.
• Creative thinking to contribute to product reviews and notes.
• Rudimentary understanding of retail math.
• 1–2 years of retail experience or internship.

Responsibilities

• Own web turnover: Manage web photo sample request process.
• Support product development through sample management.
• Request presentation samples and ensure timely, organized delivery.
• Manage tracking, shipping and receiving including returning samples to vendors.
• Communicate changes to cross-functional teams and partners.
• Balance priorities for sample needs and issue resolution.
• Conduct weekly web audit and report findings in Monday meeting.
• Become an expert on product assortment and sample locations.
