Job summary

Wedgewood Weddings in Golden, CO is seeking an Operations Manager for Weddings & Events. You’ll run events on the floor as banquet captain, set up, direct staff, and ensure the day goes smoothly for the couple and guests while also handling behind-the-scenes operations.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Banquet Captain or similar leadership role in hospitality.
• Experience supervising, scheduling, and training staff.
• Comfort with administrative work like ordering, inventory, and scheduling.
• Strong organizational skills to juggle setups, guests and team leadership at the same time.
• Attention to detail and a proactive, hands-on leadership style.
• Alcohol service certification, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Lead event execution: oversee setups, coordinate with vendors, direct event staff, manage timelines.
• Take care of guests: be the point person for couples and guests, and handle concerns quickly and professionally.
• Manage the event staff schedule: build schedules, staff events appropriately, and handle changes as they come up.
• Order liquor and manage inventory: place orders, keep stock levels where they need to be, and follow all alcohol service and compliance requirements.
• Train and oversee event staff: onboard new team members, coach and give feedback, and hold the team to our service standards.
• Anticipate problems and fix them before they affect the event.
• Maintain health, safety, and cleanliness standards at every event.
