Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking an experienced Manager, Interconnection (WECC) to lead the WECC Interconnection Engineers and drive the full interconnection lifecycle for AES Clean Energy projects across the United States. You will manage technical analyses, coordinate with transmission owners, and steer the team through study, negotiation, and execution phases.

The role requires strong knowledge of tariff processes, RTO/ISO dynamics, and the ability to deliver favorable interconnection terms while

Qualifications

• Ability to analyze power flow and system impact studies for interconnection of utility-scale solar, wind, and battery facilities.
• Familiarity with interconnection packages and submission requirements.
• Knowledge of US transmission systems and expansion plans.
• Familiarity with Open Access Tariffs and Generator Interconnection Procedures.
• Proven project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead WECC Interconnection Engineers; develop strategic interconnection analyses to guide project siting.
• Oversee interconnection requests through to Interconnection Agreement; optimize terms.
• Manage team and develop staff; travel ~20% for field/meetings.
• Support study processes; identify cost/time-saving alternatives.
• Coordinate with internal partners to drive project execution.
