With its CANVAS UGC platform empowering anyone to become a creator, and a growing roster of WEBTOON Originals creators and series, WEBTOON's passionate fandoms are shaping pop culture. Its adaptations are available on Netflix, Prime Video, Crunchyroll, and more, with partners including Discord, HYBE, and DC Comics.

The company seeks an outgoing, highly motivated Midwest-based Account Executive with a proven record in cultivating strategic alliances and developing strategies for advertising clients, including agencies and brands. You will leverage your network within agencies and brands to grow business using WEBTOON & WATTPAD’s ad offerings, such as Display Ads, Rewarded Video, Offerwall, and Custom Content Integrations. WEBTOON also offers unique storytelling ad products like Branded WEBTOON and Branded Epilogue Story, collaborating with in-house creators. This role is pivotal as we expand our U.S. sales team.

This is a remote position based in Chicago.

Essential Duties:
  • Develop and maintain client relationships across key verticals (Auto, CPG, QSR, etc.), acting as a trusted partner to senior marketers and agencies.
  • Establish connections with media-buying agencies and brands in the Midwest/central US.
  • Create consultative sales presentations based on market trends and research.
  • Lead responses to RFPs.
  • Become an expert in WEBTOON’s advertising solutions, including Display, Video, Offer-Wall, and Custom Content Integrations.
  • Collaborate with Content and Creator teams to drive revenue growth among new and existing clients.
  • Report sales activities and performance to the HQ GW Ads team in Korea weekly and monthly.
  • Manage time zone differences for communication with Korean teams, including late afternoon and evening hours.
  • Travel for business (at least two trips per year).
  • Attend industry events and conferences to network and expand industry knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 7 years in sales, preferably in digital advertising.
  • Experience managing relationships with advertisers, from initial contact to contract closure.
  • Outgoing personality with determination to close new business.
  • Understanding of US digital advertising market trends.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven success in pursuing new business opportunities and securing IOs.
  • Ability to maintain and grow existing client accounts.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Extensive network of advertising decision-makers, especially in the Midwest.
  • Established relationships with top marketing decision-makers at brands and agencies, especially in auto and CPG industries.
  • Track record of delivering revenue growth.
  • Experience in ad-sales at major ad-tech or entertainment companies.
  • Deep understanding of advertiser challenges and objectives throughout the funnel.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to build compelling business cases.
  • Fan of WEBTOON or web comics.
