Job summary

The City of New York's NYC Financial Information Services Agency – Office of Payroll Administration seeks a WebSphere Administrator to support production maintenance and phased HR/Payroll system rollouts. You will install, maintain and configure middleware (IBM WebSphere, MQ, Cognos) and work with multiple teams, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in middleware administration, strong WebSphere experience, Git/Ansible, and on-call readiness for a large-scale

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field and 4+ years in datacenter/cloud IT infra.
• Experience with IBM WebSphere (tWAS) and WebSphere Liberty on Linux/UNIX.
• Proficient in Git, Ansible, and CI/CD tooling; strong SQL skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and configure middleware infrastructure (WebSphere, MQ, Cognos).
• Support production maintenance and citywide applications; 24x7 on-call support.
• Upgrade middleware, apply patches and perform root-cause analysis of issues.
• Collaborate with multiple teams and document issues and solutions.
